PRIVACY
Privacy Policy
HomeBook is designed around local-first home records. This policy explains what information we process when you visit the website, contact us or purchase HomeBook.
Last updated: 18 September 2026
1. Who is responsible for your personal data?
HomeBook is the service responsible for this website and the HomeBook software. For privacy-related questions, contact us at homebook.support@gmail.com.
The legal name, business ID and registered address of the seller are provided at checkout and in the purchase confirmation.
2. HomeBook data stays on your device
HomeBook is designed so that the information you enter into the application about your home is stored locally on your device. HomeBook does not require a HomeBook account for normal use, and your home records, photos, receipts, documents and other HomeBook content are not uploaded to a HomeBook server as part of normal local use.
You are responsible for keeping your device and your own backups secure. If you export or share information yourself, the resulting file or document may contain the information you chose to include.
3. Information processed through the website and purchase
When you use this website, contact support or purchase a product, we may process information such as:
- your name and contact details;
- purchase and transaction information;
- license information needed to deliver and manage your purchase;
- messages and information you send to support; and
- technical information that is necessary to operate and secure the website.
Payments may be processed by a third-party payment provider. Payment card details are handled by the payment provider rather than stored by HomeBook itself.
4. Why we process information
We process personal data when necessary to provide the website and purchased products, process payments, deliver licenses, respond to support requests, prevent abuse and comply with legal obligations. Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw that consent at any time.
5. Retention
We keep personal information only for as long as it is needed for the purpose for which it was collected, for the duration of the relevant customer relationship, or for as long as required by law. Transaction and accounting records may need to be retained for statutory periods.
6. Service providers
We may use carefully selected service providers for payment processing, website hosting, email and license delivery. These providers may process personal data only to the extent needed to provide their services to us. Where required, appropriate data-processing arrangements are put in place.
7. Your rights
Depending on the circumstances, you have rights under applicable data-protection law to access your personal data, request correction or deletion, restrict or object to certain processing, and request data portability. You may also have the right to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.
To exercise your rights, contact homebook.support@gmail.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority. In Finland, the supervisory authority is the Office of the Data Protection Ombudsman.
8. Cookies and local storage
HomeBook does not need advertising cookies to provide the service. The website or application may use browser local storage or similar technical storage for functional settings, such as remembering your selected language. Such local storage is not the same as storing your HomeBook home records on a HomeBook server.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when our service, legal obligations or data-processing practices change. The current version will always be published on this page with its latest update date.
